We have a number of large investment projects that require a focused approach where we look at every fundraising stream in the local community to make it a reality. The benefits of our capital projects are life-changing and will impact on entire communities for many years to come.
We also have a number of smaller fundraising projects in each county that we fundraise for each year through a number of national and local fundraising events. See below an example of some we are currently fundraising for.
A NEW LIFT FOR OUR CENTRE IN SHANNON
The Shannon resource centre provides services for 31 adults with ongoing and complex needs including physical, intellectual and sensory disabilities, mental health issues or a combination of challenges. We are located in a two-storey building in the town centre. Although most of our activity takes place on the ground floor we would like to make all of our facilities accessible to all. Hence we are currently fundraising for a lift.
SWIMMING LESSONS - 10 WEEK COURSE
The RehabCare centre in Kildare are currently looking to fundraise to keep their 28 clients fit and active. The people attending this centre are Adults with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities and some with mental health difficulties . Modules covering healthy lifestyle play a big part of their personalised plan as exercise improves mobility and is very beneficial for our mental health. RehabCare Kildare would like to run a 10 week swimming course for their clients. Please help make this a reality by swimming 1km this March for Rehab.
ASPERGER'S CLUB FOR THE MIDLANDS
We would like to develop a social and recreational support club for people with Asperger’s Syndrome in the Midlands region. This club will benefit individuals and families who may be isolated in rural settings by providing an opportunity to meet others in similar circumstances in an urban setting.
A NEW KITCHEN FOR OUR CHILDREN’S RESPITE SERVICE
Over 70 families in Co. Meath benefit from Rehab’s respite care in Navan. For the children who use this service, it is like a ‘home from home’.
A 7-SEATER VEHICLE FOR THE RESOURCE CENTRE AND SUPPORTED ACCOMMODATION SERVICE
The purchase of this vehicle will enhance our activities in the community and our sportsleisure programmes. These programmes are designed to support the personal development and community integration needs of the people who use Rehab’s services in Monaghan.
A QUIET ROOM FOR REHABCARE RESOURCE CENTRE CASTLEREA
We are fundraising for a quiet room for our service in Castlerea. A quiet room enables a person to have time alone in a relaxing and calming environment thus enhancing their well-being. This is particularly helpful for people with mental health issues.
SAILIBILITY - MAKE SAILING ACESSIBLE TO EVERYONE
Students from NLN's 'Stepping Out' programme are currently building a 7.4metre day sailor boat specifically designed for people with disabilities. It will be the first of its kind in the Northern Hemisphere. The project is well underway with over a third of the work completed. NLN are currently seeking investment to complete the project which will see the first sailing club in Athlone for people with disabilities.
